'Where Every Heart is Sacred'

W/C 22/6/26

Literacy

This week we continue reading the text 'Splash, Anna Hibiscus!'

We will be learning about Africa from a variety of sources, with a focus on Nigeria and Nigerian culture.

What do you know about Nigeria?

Maths

In maths this week we continue exploring patterns. We will also be exploring different perspectives e.g. looking at things from a different position, what can you see?

Phonics

In phonics lessons this week, we are going to continue working on the sounds we already learnt, and we are consolidating our learning from the Reception year.

Please do continue to encourage your child to complete their phonics homework.

Things to remember

Do continue to write a comment on your child's reading record, as this helps us fine-tune our teaching to best support them.

Please remember to read with your child at least 3x per week, for 5-10 minutes.

Also please do continue to read aloud to your child using picture books and non-fiction books they love.
