'Where Every Heart is Sacred'

W/C 27.04.2026

Pope Leo XIV

As we enter the beginning of May and reflect on the Easter season, we are reminded of the timeless message of peace at the heart of the Gospel, a message that Pope Leo XIV has beautifully echoed in his first Easter season as leader of the Church. In his Easter homily and “Urbi et Orbi” blessing, the Pope invited all people to lay down the burdens of conflict, distrust, and fear, and to open their hearts to the peace of Christ who triumphs over death and division.

Pope Leo XIV has stressed that peace is not merely the absence of war but a gift from God that begins in the heart, nurtured through dialogue, compassion, and mutual respect. He has repeatedly called on the global community to reject violence and to seek reconciliation wherever there is division and suffering.

As a school community, we are blessed to see these values lived out every day, through the kindness of our students, the dedication of our staff and the support of our families. This Easter season, let us continue to nurture a spirit of peace, compassion, and understanding within our Sacred Heart family, carrying these principles beyond the school gates and into our wider community.

Lord Jesus, Prince of Peace,
Fill our hearts with Your love.
Help us to forgive, to heal, and to bring peace wherever we go.
Amen.

KS2 SATs

May 11th, 12th 13th and 14th

As we approach the Key Stage 2 SATs period, we would like to take a moment to acknowledge and thank everyone involved in supporting our Year 6 children.

First, a heartfelt thank you to our dedicated staff, whose hard work, guidance, and encouragement help our children reach their potential every day. We are also deeply grateful to you, our parents and carers, for supporting your children at home with homework, extra learning, and encouragement; the additional support makes a real difference. Most importantly, we want to commend the children themselves for their diligence, resilience, and positive attitude as they prepare for these important assessments.

This year, KS2 SATs will take place from Monday May 11th to Thursday May 14th. During this period, we kindly ask that our whole school community helps to maintain a calm and quiet environment, particularly in areas around classrooms, to ensure the children can focus and do their best.

Thank you again for your ongoing support and partnership in making this a positive and successful experience for our children.

This week Nursery has been learning the story The Three Little Pigs and The Big Bad Wolf. During continuous provision, we have been exploring buildings and construction in some really creative ways. The children have explored 'building' with soft blocks and shaving foam. They have also been enjoying den building outside, in the lovely sunny weather we have had this week.
