'Where Every Heart is Sacred'

Image of Transition Day

Today, while many of our Y6 pupils were visiting their new secondary schools, Sacred Heart children had the opportunity to meet their new teachers in their new classrooms.

Moving up to a new class is an important part of every child’s journey through school. We know that, for some children (and parents/carers!), this time of transition can bring feelings of uncertainty or nervousness. That’s completely natural. At Sacred Heart, we encourage families to turn those feelings into excitement and curiosity by talking together about all the wonderful things that lie ahead.

A great way to start is by visiting our school website, where you can explore class pages, meet the staff, and find out about the topics and learning experiences your child will enjoy next year. Next year, our children will continue to benefit from a range of exciting trips, visits and enrichment opportunities which help bring learning to life and build lasting memories.

As always, we are here to support every child with care, encouragement, and faith as they take their next steps at Sacred Heart, and beyond.

Class News

Class 4

This week class 4 have been creating a cityscape in the style of James Rossi, take a look at some of our work.

Class 8

Class 8 have had a busy week! On Wednesday attended Perfectly Imperfect at Manchester Art Gallery. We learned about how imperfections can tell a story and nothing is truly perfect. We discussed how art can bring up powerful feelings. Then the children explored creating art from a piece of paper, white tac and buttons. On Wednesday, as part of our Geography topic, Class 8 collected litter in the local area.

Class 7

Year 5 recently enjoyed a fabulous time at St. Peter's Secondary School. The children had an action-packed day, filled with a variety of events. During the course of the day, they had the opportunity to play musical instruments, create their own pieces of art, and act and carry out their own science experiments. They even had the chance to sample some fantastic food from the school's canteen!

Dear Parents and Carers,

The Sacred Heart parish summer fair has been arranged for Sunday 13th July, after the morning Mass. If you have any bottles or chocolate that you could donate, Father Kevin would be really grateful.

Please either take these along to Mass this Sunday (July 6th) or bring them into school on Friday 11th July. As we have already completed our fundraising for this half term, we will not be holding a non-uniform day for this event but Father Kevin would really appreciate any donations that you are able to offer.

Thank you.
