'Where Every Heart is Sacred'

W/C 16/03/26

Literacy

This week we are reading Oliver's Vegetables. We will be learning a bit about how fruit and vegetables are grown, as well as the names of some common vegetables. Over the next few days, we will be having a go at planting our own potatoes!

What is your favourite vegetable? Why?

Maths

In maths this week we are learning about numbers 9 and 10. We are learning to recognise those numbers, and how to compose them e.g. '9 is the whole, and 4 and 5 are the parts.' We will use dominoes and other objects to help us compose and represent 9 and 10.

Phonics and Reading

This week we are reviewing phonics sounds that we have learnt so far in the Spring term. Our hard-to-read-and-spell words (HRSW) ar:  so, have, were, out

Please continue to help your child with their phonics homework.

Please read with your child for about 10 minutes at least 3 times per week, and do remember to write a comment in their reading record.

Things to remember

The amazing Oral Health team have arranged to bring a Dentist to see our children on Friday May 1st at school. If your child is not yet registered with a dentist, please see the Oral Health team to sign a consent form this week.

They are going to be around to explain the process and get consent forms signed near the Nursery and Reception classrooms this week on:

-Wednesday 18th March from 8:45 until about 9:00am

-Thursday 19th March from 3:00 until about 3:30pm

This is a great opportunity to get your child seen by a dentist if you are struggling to find them a place.
