The Ascension of the Lord, May 29th

One is All - Evans Yegon
The Ascension of the Lord is a special feast in the Catholic Church that is celebrated 40 days after Easter. It marks the moment when Jesus returned to His Father in heaven, after appearing to His disciples, following His resurrection. Jesus' Ascension was not a goodbye, but a promise: He assured His followers that He would always be with them, and that the Holy Spirit would come to guide and strengthen them.
At home, you may like to talk to your children about what this means for us today: that even though we cannot see Jesus, He is still present in our lives, especially when we show love and kindness to others. We ask for God’s strength as we respond to Jesus’ call to “go and make disciples of all nations,” encouraging us to live out our faith every day, with courage, joy and hope, just as the Apostles did, almost 2000 years ago.
