Sacred Heart R.C. Primary School

'Where Every Heart is Sacred'

W/C 01.12.25

Thank you so much to everyone who helped make last Sunday’s Parish Fair such a joyful and successful event. It’s always a pleasure to see so many of you at Mass and to enjoy time together afterwards. We are truly blessed to be part of such a warm and caring community.

Advent is a special season when we prepare our hearts for the coming of Jesus. It is a time to pause, reflect, and remember the values that He teaches us: peace, love, joy, and hope. As we light the candles on the Advent wreath each week, we are reminded to share these gifts with others through kind words, helpful actions, and caring hearts.

This season encourages us to slow down and appreciate the blessings around us, to be grateful for our families and friends, and to reach out to those who may need support or comfort.

Dear Jesus, thank You for bringing peace, love, joy, and hope into our world. Help us to share these gifts with everyone we meet. Amen.

May your family enjoy a blessed and joyful Advent season.

Last half term, I was delighted to meet with the School Council who shared their Class Charters with me. The children were able to speak confidently about the Children’s Rights that were most important to them and their class mates, and they were able to talk to me about how they (the Rights Holders) and the staff (the Duty Bearers) would respect the Class Charter rights in each of our wonderful classes.

Here are the Children’s Rights that feature in our Class Charters this academic year:

In Class 5 this week we have had lots of teamwork, creativity, and plenty of fun in DT this week! Our groups have been busy chatting, laughing, and sharing ideas as they: -Decided on ways to adapt their basic biscuit recipe - Completed a budget to make sure their treats are cost-friendly - Designed unique logos to represent their delicious creations Beyond DT, the children have also been exploring the physical and human features of Europe and have been learning their 12 times table. We marked the beginning of Advent as we came together in Mass , reflecting on hope and preparation during this special season. Great energy, teamwork, and thoughtfulness shown this week!

Travelling Cribs

To celebrate the Advent season, each child will have the opportunity to bring home one of our 'Travelling Cribs'. This is an opportunity for the children to reflect on this special season of preparation for the birth of Our Lord Jesus Christ. The children will receive a bag with a candle, nativity scene and Advent prayer inside. These bags should be returned the following day to the Class Teacher.

If you have any photographs of your child praying with their Travelling Crib, we would love to see them! Please email any photographs to admin@sacredheart-jun.manchester.sch.uk
