Sacred Heart R.C. Primary School

'Where Every Heart is Sacred'

W/C 24.11.25

Advent begins this Sunday and is a very special liturgical season: it is the season when we prepare our hearts and minds to celebrate the birth of Jesus at Christmas. During the four weeks of Advent, we get ready to welcome Jesus into our lives and into the world, with joy and hope. Advent is a time to slow down, reflect, and think about how we can be kind, loving, and helpful to others, just as Jesus teaches us.

At school and at home, we light the Advent candles, one for each week, to remind us that Jesus is the Light of the World. Advent is also a time to pray, share, and show love to our family, friends, and those in need.

Dear Jesus, help us prepare our hearts to welcome You. Teach us to be kind, loving, and full of hope. Amen.

Caritas Advent Appeal

Will You Be There This Christmas?

At this time of year, we can all feel under pressure to buy more, spend more, consume more and respond to the never-ending call to accumulate things.  But, some people don’t even have the basics.

No food for their baby, no warm clothes or heating; not even the security of a roof over their family’s heads.  Let’s not just make it about the tinsel, the parties and the supermarket queues.

Put the true meaning back into Christmas now and BeeThere with a gift that can truly help transform lives.  However small those positive steps to help might feel, people in your area, your street, your place of work or your wider community can transform their lives this Christmas thanks to your kindness.  Please visit www.caritassalford.org.uk/BeeThereNow to find out more.

Term of Four Years

We currently have a vacancy for a Parent Governor Representative for a term of office of 4 years. Parent Governors should have a genuine commitment to the educational, personal and spiritual development of students and in particular to the wellbeing of the school community as a whole. Governors work voluntarily.

Governors attend 4–7 meetings per year, each lasting approximately 2 hours. There is significant responsibility attached to the role and a few hours’ reading required in preparation for each meeting. Schools could not function without their governing boards, so serving as a governor is an integral part of supporting and shaping the life of our school community.

Mrs Botham, Mrs Jordan and the rest of our dedicated Governing Board would be delighted to hear from parents who are interested in contributing their time and skills to help guide the strategic direction of our wonderful school.

Please click here or visit the school website for further information about the role of a parent governor and what to do if you are interested in applying for the role.

Keep our children safe!

PLEASE NO PARKING OR STOPPING ON KNUTSFORD ROAD!

Unless you have a blue disabled badge, please do not park or even stop on Knutsford Road opposite the school or outside the school between the hours of 8am and 5pm as clearly marked on the yellow signs on both sides of the road.

In accordance with the Highway Code, please do not park within 10 metres of the junctions on Knutsford Road. Please remember that my staff are here to teach and care for your children; they are not traffic wardens or police officers. Please be respectful of other road users in order to reinforce the message we share daily with our children: Every Heart is Sacred.
