Welcome Back

On behalf of the staff and governors, I would like to extend a very warm welcome back to Sacred Heart. I hope you all enjoyed a restful and happy summer break, with plenty of opportunities to relax and spend time together as a family.

It has been a real joy to welcome the children back into school. Their smiles, laughter and enthusiasm have filled our classrooms once again, and we are delighted by how well they have settled into their new classes.

Thank you for your continued support in ensuring that children return to school smartly dressed and ready to live out our school rules by working hard and being kind. Our school uniform helps every child feel part of our community. As a reminder, children may wear small stud earrings (except for PE and swimming), and should wear plain black shoes or trainers with no visible logos. (Boots are also permitted.)

I would like to thank all of our staff for the tremendous amount of work they completed over the summer to prepare for the new academic year. This was no small task, as many classrooms had to be moved following the completion of our fantastic new extension. Although the major work is now behind us, we will continue to make improvements to our school environment over the coming year, including further enhancements to our outdoor spaces and the creation of a prayer garden. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helps to make these changes possible.

We look forward to another successful year together as we continue to grow as a community where every child is known, valued and encouraged to flourish. As always, if you have any questions about your child's development or time at school, please speak to their class teacher in the first instance. The end of the school day is the best time for these conversations, as the teacher will be able to give you their full attention, or make a face-to-face appointment for meetings that require a longer conversation. If you ever wish to discuss anything in more detail with a senior leader or with our Special Educational Needs Coordinator, please feel free to make an appointment with me (Headteacher), Mrs McCarthy (Deputy Headteacher), or Miss Garland (SENDCo). As usual, Mrs McCarthy and I will be on the yard most mornings, and we will be happy to hear your news as well as any constructive feedback you may have about our school. 

It remains a great privilege to serve as Headteacher of Sacred Heart. Thank you for the trust you place in us each day. We look forward to working in partnership with you throughout the year as we continue to place Christ at the centre of all that we do, ensuring that Every Heart is Sacred.

Mass on Tuesday 8th September

You are very welcome to join us for our first Mass of the new academic year on Tuesday 9th September at 9:15am in Sacred Heart RC Church. Classes 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 will attend, and readers will be chosen from our oldest classes. 

Happy Hearts Breakfast and After School Club

Happy Hearts Breakfast Club and After School Club are now back up and running for the new academic year. If you require childcare at either of these clubs, please speak to Miss Wood at the office to book your child's place. We are hoping to have the online booking system, on Parentmail, up and running by the end of next week. 

Breakfast Club opens at 8am and costs £3.50 per session. 

After School Club opens at the end of the school day and closes at 5:30pm. 

Please note that the price of After School Club has changed slightly and now costs £5 until 5pm and £8 until 5:30pm. 

Please note that we currently have a maximum number of 20 places in Happy Hearts Breakfast and After School Club and booking is essential so that class teachers can dismiss children safely at the end of the school day.

We have been revisiting our Mission Statement in classes and in assemblies this week. Perhaps you could talk to your children about the special words that guide our interactions and focus our relationships throughout our time together at Sacred Heart:

We are very proud of our bespoke school curriculum. It has been thoughtfully and sensitively planned, taking into account the socioeconomic demographics of the school and the world in which we live. Learning in each area of the curriculum is sequenced so that children build on their prior knowledge and skills and are able to store new learning in their long term memories. PE Days

You can find extra information about your child’s new class by visiting the class pages section of our website. 

Nursery & Reception: PE days will be shared once the children have settled into their new classes. As all children are expected to wear suitable active clothing (such as leggings or joggers and trainers) every day, there is no need for a separate PE kit or for children to wear different clothes on PE days.

Class 2 (Miss Andrew): Wednesdays & Thursdays 

Class 3 (Miss Beckitt): Tuesdays and Wednesdays

Class 4 (Miss Leadbetter): Wednesdays and Thursdays

Class 5 (Miss Wynne): Tuesdays and Thursdays 

Class 6 (Miss Tabib): Thursdays 

(NB: C6 will go swimming every Monday from 07.09.26 until further notice).

Class 7 (Miss Scappaticci): Mondays and Fridays 

Class 8 (Mrs Morrison): Mondays and Tuesdays

Class 9 (Miss Chaudhry): Mondays and Fridays

Prayer for the New Academic Year 

Dear Lord, 

We think of the children and young people close to our hearts 

and know that they are precious in your sight, fearfully and wonderfully made. We place them into your hands. 

Strengthen and nurture them. 

Be with them in their coming in and going out, 

at home and at school, 

in their sports, activities and clubs, 

their friendships and their quiet times. 

Mould them in your image, forming and reforming. 

Through the positive influence of those whose lives cross theirs. 

Through the love and example of those who care for them 

and through the constant love of your Son, Jesus, 

who walks alongside them each step of their lives.

Keep our children safe! 

PLEASE NO PARKING OR EVEN STOPPING ON KNUTSFORD ROAD!

Unless you have a blue disabled badge, please do not park or even stop on Knutsford Road opposite the school or outside the school between the hours of 8am and 4:30pm as clearly marked on the yellow signs on both sides of the road. 

In accordance with the Highway Code, please do not park within 10 metres of the junctions on Knutsford Road. I need to be clear that my staff are here to teach and care for your children; they are not traffic wardens or police officers. Please be respectful of other road users and our neighbours in order to reinforce the message we share daily with our children: Every Heart is Sacred.
