Reception Newsletter

'Where Every Heart is Sacred'

W/C 20/7/26

And just like that...

... our Reception children have finished their time in the Early Years, and are making their way into Key Stage One.

The Reception team are so proud of everything our children have achieved this year, and the progress they have made. We would also like to thank all parents/ carers for working alongside us to provide the best for our wonderful children.

This is the last newsletter of the year, so I am going to share some resources that you may find helpful in the future.

Words for Life

This is a site designed to help parents keep developing their children's language as they get older. You will find this useful now and also in the coming years as your child moves through KS1.

Phonics

Use the QR code to visit the ELS Phonics website created for parents.

This is the Phonics programme your child has been using at school everyday, and they will keep using it in Year 1, so it's really worth bookmarking it if you haven't done so already.

You will find some really helpful resources there, such as clips to help you say all the different phonemes, and some sound mats that you can use at home with your child.

Numberblocks at Home

Use the QR code to access the website of the National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM). This will help keep that Maths knowledge ticking when the children are not at school, and it is fun!
