Sacred Heart is proud to be a uniformed school, so all children are required to wear school uniform and the co-operation of all parents is sought in maintaining this. It is of great help if all items of clothing are clearly marked with your child’s name.

Haircuts must be appropriate for school and hair should not be dyed. Parents will be asked to correct a child’s inappropriate hairstyle if necessary. Children should not have bright colours dyed or woven into the hair and all hairstyles should be sensible. 

Apart from small stud earrings, we do not permit the wearing of jewellery in school due to obvious health and safety risks, especially during games and play times.

You can purchase Sacred Heart school uniform from KK Sports (Unit 1, next to Tesco Extra, Hyde Rd, Gorton) and from MyClothing. The prices are competitive and MyClothing is able to deliver your items to your home address.  As well as uniform with the school logo, you will also be able to order any other items of school uniform such as trousers, skirts, pinafores and PE kit. Plain items, without the school logo, can be purchased easily from supermarkets and clothing retailers. 

 

NURSERY AND RECEPTION

The school uniform requirements for children in Nursery and Reception are as follows:

Black or Navy Pull Up Jogging Pants, Leggings or Shorts.

White or Pale Blue Polo Shirt

Blue Sweatshirt (with or without school logo)

Plain Black Trainers (no coloured patterning) or shoes without laces

This ensures that the children are practically dressed and active ready at all times. 

Clothing with an elasticated waist is critical as zips, buttons and fasteners can hinder the children when in a rush to use the toilet. 

KS1 & KS2

The school uniform requirements for children in Year 1 to Year 6 are as follows:

White or Pale Blue Polo Shirt

Navy Blue Sweatshirt/Cardigan/Fleece (with or without school logo)
Navy Blue, Black or Grey Trousers/Skirt/Pinafore or Shorts
Socks (no higher than the knee) or Tights
Plain Black Trainers (no coloured patterning), Shoes or Boots

Stud earrings only
Waterproof/Showerproof coat
Hat and/or gloves in winter
Summer: Blue Checked Dress (Optional)

Bright coloured pullovers, track-suit trousers or sports football tops are not acceptable uniform at Sacred Heart.

 

The  P.E. Kit to be worn by all children is as follows:

A plain white t-shirt

Plain black shorts in summer and plain black jogging bottoms or leggings in winter

Plain black trainers

Long hair must be tied up
