Nursery

Hello, my name is Mrs O’Hara and I have worked at Sacred Heart for many years, I am delighted to be teaching your children in Nursery this year and feel privileged to be able to provide them with their first learning experience at Sacred Heart. The majority of my time at Sacred Heart has been working with the Early Years and I thoroughly enjoy teaching in the Nursery class. I teach Nursery on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and also Tuesday morning.

Working in Early Years has enabled me to be part of the children’s first learning and school life experience and it is wonderful to see them progress, grow and mature through each year group. I am also the art leader at Sacred Heart and really value the positive impact art has on our pupils in school, allowing them to express their ideas.

In my spare time I am always busy with my three boys, who absolutely love football, and I really enjoy spending time with my friends and family.

I am Mrs Garrett, I am Early Years’ Leader and I have been teaching at Sacred Heart since 2019, when my family moved up to Manchester. I teach in Nursery on Tuesday afternoons and Wednesdays.

At school I used to love writing, but I always thought I was bad at maths. Luckily, I had a very kind teacher who taught me to be brave and have a go during my lessons, and now I love maths! This is the best thing about school: being free to make mistakes, knowing someone is there to help you improve.

In my spare time, I love to walk and cycle. I also spend a lot of time in the garden enjoying the sunshine and watching the birds. Like many of our children at Sacred Heart, English is my second language. Did you know that I was born in Brazil? I speak Portuguese and a bit of Spanish. How about you?
